1st Carnforth Scout Group

Everything you need to know about Carnforth Scouting and our amazing Base Camp

WHAT IS SQUIRRELS ?

Every week (during Term time), our Squirrel Drey will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities.

Inclusion is at the heart of our Squirrels story. Here at 1st Carnforth Scouts, we’re open to people of all genders, backgrounds, and faiths (including people of no faith). We are committed to reaching out to new and different families and communities and include people who have never tried Scouting before.

Squirrels is run by trained adults, supported by Young Leaders (14 to 18 year old Explorer Scouts). Parents and carers can come along too.

Around the age of 6, Squirrels are able to move up into Beavers.

MEET THE TEAM

Our qualified leaders will host a safe and secure programme aimed specifically at 4 and 5 year olds.

Squirrel ratios are:

  • 1:6 inside plus a leader in charge
  • 1:4 outside (away from the safety of the usual meeting place) plus a leader in charge
  • A minimum of 3 adults regardless of the number of Squirrels attending.

If you are interest in Volunteering then please contact Becky on 07894 702 634 (email at rebecca.parker@lonsdalescouts.org.uk).
